So I went from this on Saturday (glamorous for me!) to this on Sunday (more typical of me):

We spent most of Sunday finishing off almost all of the new garden beds (one 4′ x 6′ bed still waiting). That meant that I went from my heels (these, to be precise) to my mucky rain boots and dirt under and ground into my skin in less than 24-hours. The thought that kept repeating in my head as this happened? “I LOVE my life!”

Into the ground I planted ~200 onions (clear dawn, new york early, and red marble), 4 types of carrots, and my zucchini. Then it started raining again before I had the chance to do any more and has only let up this morning, though I’m not sure how long that will last. The forecast says we might have some sun tomorrow and that will send me scurrying to get more in the ground while I can. Thank goodness for raised beds amidst all this rain. All of this makes me think of another favorite quote of mine, this one by Mary Oliver:
Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

Oh, I love that one! Another one I like is: “You are not an observer, you are a participant.” –Thich Nhat Hanh (Being Peace)
That IS a great quote, Mary Ellen. Makes me want to dive back into Being Peace again!
