I am always amazed when tiny seeds, when placed in dirt with some water, produce food like this:
I harvested these on the 27th to add to Amanda Soule’s Carrot Tomato Soup. (Yes, all was washed before adding to the pot!) We had plenty for dinner that night with leftovers for yesterday & today. I froze 3 quarts worth, too. Hurray for putting food by!

I was picking up some lettuce at Wegmans a few weeks ago and was near a woman who sorted through the celery looking for a bunch that were soil-free. She complained to me about how dirty they were, and I said, yeah, you’d think they grew it in the dirt! Like outside and stuff. I may have been too snarky.
Beautiful harvest!
I love how snarky you were! It’s kind of sad that you had to be snarky in regards to that, though.
all creation is pretty miraculous- from a blank canvas to a painting, and to just some soil and seeds, to something you can eat!!
Nice sentiment, Kerri. I don’t think that way often enough.
