I’ve been pulling it out more again, the “big” camera. I feel rusty with it, more likely to let it just do things for me. But that magic 50mm lens still makes me happy when I look through its glass to my world. Just a couple of shots from this past week:
It’s a habit I hope comes back to me more. Yes, the camera on my phone is convenient, takes some good photos, and is connected to all of those fun apps. It’s not quite the same as our “big” camera. Part of my practice this year is about making the things I enjoy, that have for various reasons become less present in my life, become habit again.

I have nothing against phone photos but oh, the color in these shots. You can tell instantly that they came from the ‘big’ camera. I’m glad that I don’t have a phone with all the fancy apps etc…because I think I would also fall under the spell of convenience and forget my good camera. So glad to see you nurturing that relationship again!
